Motivation is Contagious

Motivation is both contagious and good because this will have a positive effect to everyone. When you possess it and pass this on to others, you will see a different side that will make them accomplish just about anything.

What you have to understand about motivation is that it is something we all have. As we grew up, it further develops which is why each of us has our own goals and dreams. A classic example is for you study hard to get good grades, go to a good school, get a decent job and hopefully become a millionaire.

Making this happen will not be easy and along the way, you will meet a lot of people. It may surprise you to find out there are even some who share your goals and dreams. By working together, you somehow check on how each of you is doing. If someone is not doing so well, you can help that person carry on so they don’t quit and vice versa.

Along the way, there will be some setbacks and in some cases are beyond your control. When this happens, you just have to pull yourself up and then move on.

In order for you to motivate other people, you have to talk with them. You have to get to know them because once you know what makes them tick, the better you will be able to help them achieve success. Since things have a funny way of getting back to us, the people you talk with and help will return the favor and will do their share in helping you achieve your goals as well.

This means opening up a bit so people will also get to know who you are. Does this put you in a vulnerable position? In some ways yes but since these people revealed a bit of themselves, you should also do the same.

If you happen to be the leader in the group, praising the people under you and not always taking the credit will help. This will let people higher up see that you are a good boss and that there are people under you that have potential to take over your position or even go farther in their career.

To do this, you should always expect the best from these individuals. You do this by giving them a free hand in what needs to be done. While it is true that not all managers are like that, you will be surprised to see what people can do if someone is not always watching over them. Don’t forget to tell them that if you need help, you will be around to offer it.

Perhaps the best way to spread motivation is to set an example. If you are confident and you are able to show this in what you say and the things that you do, people will more likely follow your lead and do the same.

Just try and remember that there is someone there who is always watching so look your best and the rest will just follow.

There is no doubt that motivation just like the common cold is contagious. This is something we all have and it begins in each one of us so we have to know what drives us first before we can share this to others.
