Try These 3 Coconut Oil Lotion Bar Recipes

As you probably know, coconut oil is really great for your skin, helping to soften it and brighten up your skin tone. However, just using coconut oil can be a little inconvenient when you need to warm it up first, then a little messy when applying it. Another option is to make lotion bars from coconut oil, which are solid and really easy to do. Plus, they aren’t messy! Here are some different lotion bar recipes to try out.

Basic Lotion Bar

The first lotion bar recipe uses coconut oil and only a couple other simple ingredients. This is going to be your simple and basic lotion bar. This is good when you want to moisturize your skin with the bar, but aren’t picky about having a fancy look or scent to it. The two main ingredients for a coconut oil lotion bar are coconut oil and pure beeswax. Then if you want to add some type of scent, you can add some drops of your favorite essential oils to it. To make the bar, you heat up the beeswax and oil in a saucepan, which is going to break it up and allow the wax to melt. When they are melted together, you have the option of adding in your essential oils. Or you can skip that and pour the mixture into molds. Let it cool and harden, then place in the refrigerator until they are ready to use.

Fruit and Honey Lotion Bar

This next lotion bar starts with the same basic ingredients of beeswax and coconut oil, but then adds some other ingredients to give it a better scent and some added health benefits. This includes adding in some raw honey and shea butter, which allow it to be softer and more luxurious for your skin. You will add these ingredients to the saucepan with the oil and wax until everything is smooth and melted together. You can then add in some fruit essential oils that you want to go with the honey, such as orange or lemon.

Coconut and Lavender Lotion bar

One ingredient many people like to use with their body and personal care products is lavender. The reason is because lavender has a fresh, beautiful scent that is slightly floral to where it is pretty, but not overpowering. Lavender essential oil is the perfect combination when making a lotion bar with coconut oil. For this lotion bar, many of the ingredients are the same as the others. You want to use some shea butter, beeswax, coconut oil, and then a good amount of lavender essential oil added. Start with just a few drops at a time, then add more if you want to. Pour the mixture into silicone molds and let harden. These are best since it makes it easy to pop out each lotion bar when you need them.
