Use Coconut Oil as a Makeup Remover

If your makeup counter is full of products that don’t have the most natural of ingredients, you may be looking for a way to have something a little better for your skin. One change you can make is by ditching the store-bought makeup remover wipes or pads, and using coconut oil instead. This is completely natural and will soften your skin while also helping to remove makeup.

Makeup Remover Wipes

Here is a very simple recipe to put together some makeup remover wipes that use coconut oil and other easy ingredients. While not completely natural, it is much better for your skin than any makeup remover wipes you get from the grocery store. To make your own wipes, you are going to use large cotton balls, along with coconut oil, water, and baby shampoo that is tear-free. Pay attention to the ingredients of the baby shampoo. You also need a jar to keep them in. You will need to boil water and pour the coconut oil in until it melts, then add your baby shampoo. Fill the jar with about ½ of the mixture, then begin stretching out cotton balls and placing them into the jar. They will absorb the mixture and work great as makeup wipes.

Create a Coconut Oil Cream Remover

This is another option for creating your own makeup remover by using coconut oil as the main ingredient. All you really need to do is add some coconut oil to a bowl and use a hand mixer. The mixing of the oil is going to take it from a solid consistency to more of a soft one, though not completely liquid. It is more similar to frosting or whipped cream, which is a lot easier to rub on your face when you need it. You can rub this anywhere on your face to remove the makeup, including right over your eyes for eye makeup. It also works great for moisturizing your face, so you are getting a bonus use out of it. Save the leftovers in a small container.

Use Plain Coconut Oil

Removing your makeup doesn’t always have to require making some elaborate makeup remover wipe or recipe. Just straight coconut oil even without being whipped first can help remove your makeup. If you have a container of coconut oil in your bathroom, you can put a small amount in the palm of your hand, rub it around to get it a softer consistency, then apply to areas of your face with makeup in order to remove it.
